Plan2Place Consulting are currently leading a team to deliver the Bayswater Renewal Strategy. Based on the methodology of a structure plan, the focus is on renewal of the centre with a Social Benefits Framework underpinning the Renewal Strategy.

Bayswater is well placed to transform into an activity centre as envisaged by Plan Melbourne.

It is located within a broader strategic context of transformative land uses, which includes the Wantirna Health Precinct, Bayswater Business Precinct, the Mountain Highway ‘enterprise corridor’ and the Bayswater Triangle. Capitalising on these surrounding opportunities to increase employment will be key along with putting in place a public realm strategy to prime the core of the centre for investment in commercial and residential.

The Renewal Strategy will provide a framework for the centre to grow sustainably. It will go beyond planning for new housing and consider the Centre’s future commercial, community, open space, infrastructure and accessibility needs.
